An open ground level on columns, normally used for parking.
A stilt floor is unenclosed, roofed and supported on columns. Most states exempt one stilt parking level from FAR, which makes it valuable floor area. It is also a structural weak point — a soft storey in seismic terms — and needs shear walls to compensate.
