Setbacks, core areas — plots up to 60 m²
verbatimMinimum 0.5 m front and 0.5 m rear.
| Plot area up to (m²) | 60 |
| Front setback (m) | 0.5 |
| Rear setback (m) | 0.5 |
The setback is the open strip that must be left between the building and each boundary. What sets it varies by state — usually the size of the plot, the height of the building, or the width of the road outside.
Minimum 0.5 m front and 0.5 m rear.
Code 6.3(2) — and 9 related rules below.
Minimum 0.5 m front and 0.5 m rear.
| Plot area up to (m²) | 60 |
| Front setback (m) | 0.5 |

Front setbacks can be adjusted to achieve the permissible ground coverage, on the condition that rear setbacks stay fixed. So the rear is the hard boundary and the front is the one with give in it.
Minimum 1.0 m front and 1.5 m rear. Outside a core area the rear setback is the larger of the two on small plots, which is the reverse of the core-area table.
