The Kerala Municipality Building (Amendment) Rules, 2025, notified 29.10.2025, amend more than thirty rules of KMBR — among them rule 2 (definitions, including built-up area, basement floor and height of building), rule 4, rule 24 (maximum height), rule 27 (coverage and FSI) and rule 28 (access). Any figure taken from the 2019 base text should be checked against this notification before it is relied on. The coverage and FSI table was substituted in full, not amended cell by cell.

The Kerala Panchayat Building (Amendment) Rules, 2025 were notified the same day as the municipal amendment, under S.R.O. No. 1241/2025 in Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 3809 dated 29.10.2025, and supersede an earlier amendment of 19.03.2025. They substitute rule 27(2) TABLE 6 in full. Because most of Kerala is panchayat land, a figure checked only against KMBR has not been checked for most of the state.
